Apprenticeships combine working with studying for a work-based qualification from GCSEs or equivalent up to degree level. The length of the apprenticeship programme varies according to the type and level of apprenticeship, but all apprenticeships take at least a year to complete.

An exciting apprenticeship opportunity has arisen, working in Sutton Council’s Commissioning and Procurement Service. The role is for a two-year fixed term contract aimed at people of all ages, who have the enthusiasm and energy, are motivated to learn quickly and progress or change their career.

As a higher level Commissioning and Procurement Apprentice, you will be trained in a wide variety of work including analysing data, working with customers and service providers, project management and You will use your own initiative to improve processes with the ultimate aim of ensuring that services are achieving the best possible outcomes for our residents.

This role will be based in the Commissioning and Governance Service, which includes the Social Care Commissioning Team and the Procurement Service. There will also be the opportunity to work with the Environment, Housing and Regeneration Commissioning and Contract performance team. These teams lead council planning and monitoring services.

Previous work experience is not a prerequisite and full training will be given, but we are looking for people with a desire to achieve a higher level qualification with a university. With drive, enthusiasm, the right attitude and some core skills such as good communication skills, being a team player and ICT literacy.
You must also have the commitment to complete the training programme and qualifications associated with the apprenticeship. Study time will form 20% of this role.
