A new Apprenticeship opportunity has arisen within Sutton Council. We are fully committed to providing opportunities for people to develop themselves, through real and varied job roles across the Council. Apprenticeships combine working with studying for a work-based qualification from GCSEs or equivalent up to degree level. The length of the apprenticeship programme varies according to the type and level of apprenticeship but all apprenticeships take at least a year to complete.

Are you interested in getting a head start in a career in Economic Development and The role is for a one-year - eighteen months (depending on apprenticeship level) fixed term contract. This post is aimed at people between the ages of 16 to 24 years, who have the enthusiasm and energy, are motivated to learn quickly and move their career forward. As an Opportunity Sutton Apprentice, you will be involved in a wide variety of work – everything from processing transactional items into our systems, working closely with other team members to resolve queries and using your own initiative to improve processes.

This apprenticeship role is within the Opportunity Sutton team, this team is responsible for delivering the Council’s economic growth plan. There are currently a number of exciting projects which the successful candidate will assist in supporting, they include - The Town Centre Master Plan, Sutton Decentralised Energy Network, Sutton Tram and The London Cancer Hub. Previous work experience is not a pre-requisite, but we are looking for people with drive, enthusiasm, the right attitude and some core skills such as communication skills, team player and ICT literacy You must also have the commitment to complete the training and qualifications associated with the apprenticeship.
