Children's Centre Early Years Practitioner

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be paid at Grade 4 on the Sutton People Plan which currently starts at £21,702, per annum rising to a maximum of £24,999, per annum. 
Interviews are scheduled for Thursday, 5th July 2018.


We are currently recruiting for an EYP in our Blue Locality (which predominantly covers Central Sutton and Carshalton) and the Red Locality (Carshalton, Wallington and the surrounding area. The challenging and varied role of an Early Years Practitioner in Children’s Centres is ideal for anyone hoping to make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people and their families

This is an exciting time to be joining the Children’s Centres as an EYP delivering universal and targeted sessions and activities in a locality-based model. Much of our work is around offering a family support service to children and families facing multiple and complex issues, focussing on an integrated, whole family approach and a proactive, enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner is vital to our success and delivery of the borough's Early Help remit as a whole.

This role delivers direct support to families in children’s , be it in a universal Messy Play session or in a more targeted capacity eg. Chatterbox. Our aim is to work collaboratively with our partner agencies to deliver effective family support and is key to strengthening families and enabling them to become more resilient.

If you have the people skills and enthusiasm to help deliver our vision of Early Help and can rise to the challenge of outcome-focussed, family orientated work in Sutton then we’d love to hear from you.

You will need a professional qualification (level 3 or equivalent) in a linked field, such as early years, childcare or education and experience of working with parents and families would be beneficial. Ideally, you will also have experience of working with vulnerable families from diverse backgrounds to deliver improved outcomes, and have an understanding the needs of children, young people and families. You must also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
