Accounts Receivable/Payable Apprentice

Number of positions - three
Employer: London Borough of Sutton
Length: up to 18 months fixed term contract (dependent upon experience)
Location: Sutton Civic Offices and Royal Borough of Kingston Guildhall 2

Qualification: Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Chartered Institute of Credit Management: Diploma in Credit Management; Diploma in Debt Collection;
Salary: Apprentice 1st year £9,951/Level 2 and 2nd year £12,579/Level 3
Working week: Mon – Fri - 36 Hours (includes 20% time for training)

An exciting apprenticeship opportunity has arisen, working in both the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston's Shared Finance Service, which would give the successful candidate experience of working across a wide range of directorates including Social Care, Revenues Benefits, Environment, Housing Regeneration.

If you are enthusiastic, driven and committed, would like to gain an industry qualification, and have an interest in working within one of the finance operations, ensuring services are achieving the best possible outcomes for both the council's and our residents, then this is a great opportunity!

The successful candidate will gain experience working with internal and external customers, both commercial and/or customer, to ensure that the cash flow is there while achieving a fair outcome for customers. This requires proactive complex interaction with customers who are due, to e.g. having multiple debts, consistently reaching credit limits or breaching credit agreements, missing repayments to bad debts while retaining positive sustained relationships and outcomes.

There is excellent potential career progression as many of our employees have been offered permanent positions at the end of their apprenticeship.

Working in the busy Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Teams you’ll be managing payments to our suppliers and collecting payments from our customers.
