About the Job:

Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO)

Salary – (Grade 9): £39,774 - £47,511 (£49,464 unconsolidated maximum through performance related progression) Plus annual retention payment of £1000 in the first year, £2000 in the second year and £3000 a year thereafter


Sutton’s IRO service is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic IRO who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children and young people in our care.  We have recently implemented a new approach to looked after reviews (“All About Me Reviews”) which involves IROs doing direct work within the reviews and writing their reports and letters to children and young people, using child-focused language.  As well as chairing reviews you will also be involved in other quality assurance activities such as undertaking audits and delivering training.  


About You:


We welcome applications from individuals with a recognised Social Work qualification and management experience in a children’s social care setting.  Candidates will need to have a thorough knowledge of child development, legislation and best practice. We are also seeking someone who is child centred in their approach, can be creative in the role and has excellent organisational skills.
