Deputy Registration Service Manager/ Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages

Salary: Grade 8 - £33,291 - £40,728 (£42,684 unconsolidated maximum achievable through performance related progression)
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Location: Based at Russettings,Sutton Register Office 25 Worcester Road, Sutton, SM2 6PR


About us
Russettings is the location of Sutton’s Registration Service. Situated in Zone 5, Sutton is less than 30 minutes by train from central London, and south and south west London are easily accessible by public transport.
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced manager to take up the role of Deputy Registration Service Manager/ Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages to work alongside the Registration Service Manager/ Superintendent Registrar.
About the role
This is a statutory Registration/ management role and the successful candidate will meet the following requirements :

Demonstrate a sound knowledge and have experience of Registration law and practice
A proven track record of meeting targets i.e key performance indicators
Can lead on training for all aspects of service delivery and for the continuous improvement of an efficient business unit with a high public profile
Develop and maintain partnership working with all appropriate external organisations
Demonstrate strong clear leadership and the ability to work under pressure and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Maximise the use of the Russettings facilities for meetings and events which includes increasing all ceremony types on offer, promoting key events and developing potential business opportunities.
Manage staffing rotas ensuring all events and weekend/ Bank holiday working plus on call cover is in place.


About you
We’re looking for someone with a proven track record working in Registration management, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You’ll also have experience of Civil Registration law and practice, and be highly motivated with the ability to translate ideas into well-organised plans.

You will ensure the positive promotion of the services offered while gathering feedback to ensure consistent delivery of a high quality service and high customer satisfaction.
