Salary - £48,492 - £56,682 per annum  (£58,779 unconsolidated maximum achievable through performance related progression)
Hours: Full-time post (36 hours per week)
Contract type: Permanent contract
Location: Kingston Guildhall 2 / Sutton Civic Centre

This role forms a part of the Leadership of the Financial Reporting & Control Team for both the London Borough of Sutton and Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames providing inspirational leadership and driving cultural change.

As one of two Financial Reporting & Control Managers, you will lead and manage the annual closing process, in year financial reporting to senior officers, and the systems and control functions.

To succeed in this role you will be a CCAB qualified accountant, preferably CIPFA, with a detailed knowledge & experience of closing the financial accounts and preparing the financial statements for a large local authority and be comfortable in liaising with internal and external Auditors.

You will have experience of identifying and delivering service improvements or digital innovation, as well as a knowledge and understanding of financial control and governance processes that provide strong stewardship of public monies, reduce costs and achieve better outcomes.

You will lead by example to embed our values and act as part of the Senior Leadership tier of the Shared Finance Service to develop a collaborative and integrated finance team.
