Customer Service Assistant - Various libraries within the borough

Grade 3 Salary £21,591 to  £23,187 er annum , with earning potential of £23,607 based on performance.

Full-time 36 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Libraries Heritage and Arts service for Customer Service Assistants.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the confidence to deal with a variety of customers including members of the public, volunteers, partner agencies and other council departments or organisations.

You will be required to handle customer information records in accordance with data protection and information governance procedure.

You will have a high level of organisation and prioritisation skills, along with a good IT skills as you’ll be using IT for your own work and helping customers use IT equipment and software..

The role requires a degree of multi-tasking and working under pressure during busy times. This role is not a traditional customer service role and no two days are the same. Flexibility is key as you will be asked to cover at any of the 8 Libraries across the borough, and shifts will include evening, weekends and public holidays. You must be a good team player and enjoy working with a diverse range of customers and volunteers as you will be delivering the day to day library service, and will be an ambassador for providing excellent customer care.

Sutton is a short train journey from Clapham Junction and London Victoria (20-30 minutes), and London Bridge (30-50 minutes) and easily accessible from the neighbouring boroughs of Croydon and Merton
