About the Job: 

Senior Support Worker 

Salary – £24,999 pro rata

Permanent contracts available up to 30 hour per week. 


We are looking for Senior Support workers to join START (Short Term Assessment and Reablement Team) in Sutton, Surrey.  START is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of professionals from both Adult social services and the NHS including support workers, social workers, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.  


About you

Are you able to work in a fast paced front line community service supporting people on discharge from hospital to maximise their independence in their own homes? 


Are you experienced and or confident to manage crisis situations effectively to prevent hospital admissions?


Are you able to work in a flexible environment to meet the changing demands of the service? 


Are you an experienced Moving and Handling Risk Assessor who can confidently assess and put in place appropriate equipment or aids, to ensure the safety of an individual whilst enabling them to live independently in their own home, with or without support?


We are looking for

A Senior Support Worker who can demonstrate character traits such as empathyhonesty, flexibility and the ability to provide warm encouragement.


A Senior Support Worker who is passionate and committed to supporting older and disabled people to be as independent as possible and maximise their quality of life in their own homes?


A Senior Support Worker who is reliable, committed and available to work a weekly shift pattern i.e 06:30 to 14:30 and 14:30 to 23:00.  Up to 30 hours per week over 7 days with a minimum requirement to work alternate weekends and one Friday evening per month.


Hold a full clean UK driving licence and a car available for work?


NVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent  / Care Certificate or willingness to work towards.
