About the Job:

Assistant Team Manager – Children Looked After 

Salary – (Grade 9): £38,994 - £46,578 (£48,495 unconsolidated maximum through performance related progression)

Plus welcome bonus of £1000 and a retention payment of £1000 in the first year, £2000 in the second year and £3000 a year thereafter

The Children Looked After team works with children and young people aged up to 16 year olds, who are under full Care Orders, whose long-term or permanent plan is to be looked after by the Local Authority for the duration of their childhood. As appropriate, children are moved into adoption, long term fostering  or become subject of special guardianship Orders.


The team is responsible for ensuring that all looked after children are safe, have stable and secure placements, they are consulted and have robust care plans. Care plans cover their safety, permanency,  education, health, emotional health to ensure positive outcomes for the short, medium and future. The team benefits from a Family Therapist and a Clinical Psychologist who are based within the team and provide consultation and support to social workers as well as carers


About You:

We welcome applications from experienced Social Workers and Managers who are able to show initiative, an ability to work under pressure and to expected standards; have supervisory skills and who can develop our services to an outstanding standard. You will be highly organised and have strong written and analytical skills, a thorough knowledge of safeguarding legislation and experience of supervising staff or students.  If you have experience in front line Children's services and are looking for the next challenging step in your career apply today.
