Salary: £29,766 - £35,724 per annum (£37,842 unconsolidated maximum achievable through performance related progression)
Contract Status: 3 Months Fixed Term
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Location:Sutton Central Library

We are looking for a dynamic Area Customer Service Manager, who is proactive, ready for a challenge and acts as a role model to support staff through change.

The successful applicant will report to the Operations Manager, and will be responsible for the delivery of the day to day management of the front line library service. They will be responsible for ensuring library staff delivery excellent customer service, and working with the wider team to develop and deliver our programme of community events and activities.

The post holder will be responsible for the deployment of staff and volunteers, and for ensuring that all libraries are customer orientated and welcoming. They will also be responsible for the collection and management of key performance information, and ensuring that effective and efficient processes are in place to enable the library service to run efficiently.

The post holder will be part of the wider cultural management team and will contribute to the development of the annual business plan, the setting of performance indicators and service targets. Libraries will be the main focus of this role, however the post holder will be expected to support the running of the heritage houses as needed.

Candidates should preferably have demonstrable local government experience, ideally within libraries, culture and heritage.
